“As the sole administrator for one of the largest school systems in the country, I need contractors who perform without a lot of fuss and great value for my contracting dollars. Jeremy Hyler [and company] was a match in both catagories. He provided animation work that was professional, no-fuss, and at great rates. Thanks!” – Andrew Buchanan Video and Multimedia Administrator, Wake County Public School System

Company Information

Prior to the establishment of Film.Life.Films as its own separate production company, Jeremy Hyler released a number of productions under another company known as Binary Studios. Starting in 2004, he used a genre-specific motive to create such films as “CPU”, a Science-Fiction film, and “Reunion”, a Horror film. Binary Studios later transformed into Film.Life.Films when Jeremy and Danielle Hoffman met during their collaborative studies in film at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. They began to operate as a team, working together to produce their first narrative, “OK, KO”, a short film about a suicidal young man. Soon thereafter, Danielle stepped into the director’s position to create a first documentary, “Are You Pretty?”

In the spring of 2008 the duo took on their first serious project, titled “The First” about a young teenager’s first experience at a nightclub. The film was written by Danielle Hoffman and directed by Jeremy Hyler. It was a challenging endeavor, as the movie was shot on 16 mm, and the span of locations covered more than 100 miles.

Later in the year, Danielle and Jeremy began production on a new project in competition for the 2008 Insomnia Film Festival. The product would be a comedic story entitled “Tick, Tock, Trip!” illustrating the experience of three college students who experiment with ‘shrooms. Written by Danielle and directed by both, the film was completed in 24 hours, including production, editing, and special effects. Unfortunately, the Insomnia Festival pulled the plug at the last minute and they were unable to submit it. Nonetheless, the film was still a success, receiving admirable reviews and was later accepted into the 2008 Carolina Film and Video Festival.

The spring of 2009 marked the company’s most recent production, “My Name is Francesca”. For this project, Danielle and Jeremy switched roles to put Jeremy in the writing and directing seat, while Danielle shot and edited the film. It is one of their more progressive and complicated films with respect to acting, locations, special effects, and music. Both Jeremy and Danielle recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Film and Video Production. Combined with their intense passion for media arts and a diverse spectrum of talent and skills, they are both enthusiastic to jump into the world of media work headfirst. Whether it be production, post-production, or just pitching ideas, Film.Life.Films has a level of fervor and professionalism that is simply hard to come by.
